Day 14 ( Thursday, 12 th, October 2006)

Dear diary ...

Anette Feller und Theresa Greif haben heute sehr viel Courage bewiesen, denn sie haben vor 1200 Schuelerinnen und Schuelern eine kleine Ansprache in der assembly von Mc Kinnon Secondary College gehalten. Dafuer gebuehrt ihnen Respekt und Anerkennung. Well done and congratulations!! You can be proud of yourselves.

On today's agenda was Viewbank Secondary College, as well. A fine Victorian state school with quite a tradition in the German exchange programme: we were in time for the speech competition and prize awards to witness the performance of talented students presenting a variety of topics. Viewbank's principal, Mr Gannon, extended a warm welcome to our German students and expressed high expectations of the continuation of the exchange.

And then there was the incident with a caring host family and their support of one of our students in need of help...

the close of our second week was used for many plans for the weekend with host families. A day in the various schools for presenting German projects and finalising dates ...

Dear Diary ...

another day with the host families, who really make things happen all the time. Think Phillip Island and the penguin parade, think excursions to the beach, think shopping in malls ...

Day 17 (Sunday, October 15th, 2006)

Dear Diary ...

most of us spent the day with our families pusuing various activities. Franziska got to go to Canberra and even walked on top of the Australian Parliament. The weather was mainly dry with some wind, but the much needed rain did not occur.
